Our love story began at the annual Potato Festival in Manhattan, MT.When Jeff was discussing astrological signs with another attendee, Tessa was listening in. Fortunately for Jeff, he incorrectly stated the zodiac sign for August. Tessa, however, corrected him immediately.We clicked right away, and soon it became clear that our meeting was not a mere coincidence but rather destiny calling out to us.Could anyone have guessed that the discussion about astrology at a potato festival would result in our romance?

On New Year’s Eve, after spending time with family at Tessa's cousin Lily's reception in Bozeman, the celebration continued with a night out downtown to ring in the new year together.

As the countdown to 2026 filled a crowded bar, Jeff and Tessa stood surrounded by family, counting down the final seconds of 2025 side by side. At midnight, they kissed to welcome the new year — and then Jeff surprised Tessa by dropping to one knee and asking her to marry him.

Of course, Tessa said yes.

Being surrounded by family made the moment even more special, and it became the perfect beginning to the next chapter of their story together.
